Partnering with artist Teresa Lucena as our model, we created a series of whimsical portraits fusing her passion for culinary artistry and our own paper jewelry as accessories. Working over a series of days, we constructed elaborate fruit and vegetable headdresses, photographing as long as the natural daylight allowed, then preparing the produce into a nutritious and colorful meal. Later, through additional techniques, we were able to further enhance the colors' vibrancy and instill a surreal yet playful mood.
Through our harmonious and artistic collaboration, these images reflect the sublime and powerful, sensorial experience nature has on us all and provokes one to consciously question what one puts in and on their body.
